Abstract
The purpose of this study is to draw issues and find alternatives throughout the elderly job project through the perspectives of workers who are in charge of the senior job project at the forefront. At this time, we tried to deal with the issue of treatment of workers, which has received little attention so far, as an important issue. For this purpose, focus group interviews (FGI) were conducted with 14 employees working in various regions (metropolitan area, non-metropolitan area) and institutions (welfare center, senior club, Korea Seniors Association). As a result, it was found that there is a tension between the policy goals of income security and jog and social activity support for the elderly, which was started to alleviate the poverty problem of the elderly.
Specifically, the differentiation of the elderly class through policy, the dilemma as an income guarantee policy project through job policy, and side effects from job expansion were found. And the workers in this field were working in very poor working conditions. They were found to be exhausted due to low wages and excessive workload. Based on this, it was suggested to change the policy direction to introduce basic income and strengthen support for social activities.
